LOVELY DAY FOR A DRIVE

May 31, 2013:  Trinidad, California to North Bend, Oregon

The drive along the coast line today was nothing short of spectacular.  The wild ocean and jutting rock formations are beautiful.   We traveled from just south of Crescent City, California up to North Bend, Oregon.  We are staying at an RV park by the Oregon Dunes Recreation area on the 101.  .  They are huge sand dunes that attract the off roaders/ATV community.   This is a picture of our rig.  Steve has been doing all of the driving which means I've been able to really enjoy the scenery.

HOME SWEET HOME ON THE ROAD

After we got set up at our campground, we set off in the car to get to some of the places it is more difficult to get to in the motorhome.  This is the Cape Arago lighthouse.  It sits on a little rock outcropping and overlooks a reef and rock formations below.  There is a little island just offshore called Sea Shell Island where there were hundreds of seal lions lying in the sun and making a lot of noise barking away at each other.   There are lots of lighthouses along this coast line and tomorrow we'll set off to find some more.
